Biography
Hard-hitting riffs, soaring choruses, and tight harmonies combined with poignant, challenging lyrics is what make up the body of Death & Desire. ‘Aggressive Rock. Melodic Hard Rock.’ No single genre or category accurately describes the unique sound of this three-piece group that hails from Kansas City, Missouri. Formed in 2002, Death & Desire proved early on that they were serious about their musical career, touring extensively in more than 25 states, as well as festivals and a club tour in Europe. In addition to their own touring schedule, the band has traveled as part of the Impact World Tour (IWT) for over 5 years now, performing to crowds of various sizes. Some notable venues are the Mid-Hudson Civic Center, Poughkeepsie, NY (6,000) and the MetroCentre, Rockford, IL (12,000). This combination of clubs tours and festivals has put Death & Desire in front of over 100,000 music fans since the band’s inception. This is the latest step in a career that has been a classic artist development story: tour incessantly, record & develop the songs & sound, and tour some more. The band’s first independent release, ‘Waiting,’ sold over 2000 copies despite being available only on the bands’ website and at their live shows. In Europe, despite strict import policies, the band sold another 2000 CD’s from their merchandise table at shows. Death & Desire  inked a deal with Independent label, Kikstart Records. Veteran A&R rep, producer, and Kikstart Records founder Paul Andris has been honing the band’s unique sound, and is currently in the studio with the band. Together they are putting the finishing touches on Death & Desire’s Eponymous Kikstart records debut Album. Death & Desire put their focus and energy into real-life issues, not being content with emulating the fluff of many popular songs.... Issues like pain, betrayal, love, anger, faith, passion, failure, joy, and depression are the content of their lives, and these raw emotions weave their way into the band’s music. They hit issues head-on, with a raw edge that bares their souls to the audience.
